The Terme di Venturina have a thousand-year history. The "Cratere" spring has been used in every age for therapeutic purposes. In the Etruscan period the inhabitants of the city of Populonia used it. It was the Romans who most appreciated the healing properties of this water. The construction of the first modern spa dates back to 1883. The current spa complex consists of a main facility where muds, baths, massages, whirlpools, aerosols and beauty treatments are carried out, as well as a park where hydropinic treatments can be done.
The Terme di Venturina have agreements in direct assistance with the National Health Service and with the National Institute for Insurance with Accidents at Work (INAIL). After careful experimentation carried out by the most important institutes in the field of medical research, the thermal waters of the Cratere spring have proved to be effective in the treatment of various diseases including: respiratory diseases, ear-nose-throat diseases, rheumatic diseases of the bones and joints, to the biliary tract.
